Kolkata Knight Rides, defending heroes, was dealt with a major blow to the IPL 2025 where Chennai Super Kings was overpowered through two share. The loss, the sixth of KKR in 12 games, left them in sixth place with 11 points. This means that KKR should rely on a miracle in order to qualify for the IPL 2025 qualifiers. First, KKR has two remaining matches (VS Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challeners Bengaluu) and they must win both to reach 15 points.
Now, Gujarat Titans and RCB 16 points each, so KKR cannot overcome. In third place, Punjab kings (15 points, 11 games) and Indians Mumbai are fourth (14 points, 12 games). PBKS plays Delhi Capitals, Mi and Rajasthan Royals Next. If they win even one of those matches, KKR will not be able to overcome them. Since PBKS and Mi, two teams in a direct dispute of the qualifiers, play each other, and one of them will be outside the KKR range. Ajinkya Rahane must hope for one between the two teams to lose all its matches (preferably they have fewer games).
It does not end, KKR then hopes DC (13 points from 11 games) and is not exceeded by Lucknow Super Giants (10 points from 11 games).

CSK chased a 180 -goal goal with two balls to spare with Dewald Brevis, score upper grades with 52 of only 25 balls, while Chef Dubi and Captain MS DHONI cut 45 and 17 not out of respectively.
For KKR, Vaibhav Arora (3/48) was the most successful football player while Harshit Rana (2/43) and Varun Chakaravarth (2/18) took share of each of them.
Earlier, KKR 179 scored for 6 after choosing the bats.
Captain Agukia Rahan is of the highest grades with 48 while Andrea Russell and Manish Pande were advancing at 38 and 36, respectively.
For CSK, noor Ahmad was the most successful with four share.
