Rohit Sharma his heart talks about T20i retirement: “It is not fair to me …”

Rohit Sharma in India summoned the time in his career in T20i in June 2024. The announcement came immediately after India won the T20 World Cup. Vorat Kohli put the curtains for the first time on his career in T20i after winning the title and Rohit followed him with a similar announcement. The next day, Ravingra Jadeja left coordination at the highest level, and this has seen three veterans of the game, leaving a big vacuum on the team. After more than 10 months of the announcement, Rohit talked about his heart while talking about the decision.

“If we did not win the World Cup T20, I would have announced my retirement anyway because I tried enough. It was not fair to me to continue. You have to give opportunities to others. But after winning, you feel that you are still in you; you are playing well, and I have given the result too, so why don’t you continue?” Why don’t you continue? Rohit told journalist Vimal Kumar to the latter YouTube channel.

“Because this place you won, I do not come to you in any way like this.

While announcing his retirement at T20i in 2024, Rohit said: “This was my last match as well. There was no better time to say goodbye. I wanted this (the cup) badly. It is very difficult to put the words.”

“This is what I wanted and happened. I was very desperate for this in my life. Happy because we crossed this line,” he added.

His announcement came in the wake of the second World Cup in India, a victory that brought great joy and pride to the nation.

Rohit retirement represents the end of the shiny T20i profession, during which he became the top scorer in the figure, gathering 4231 in 159 games. It also holds the record for most pods in T20 Internationals, with five of his name. His T20i journey started with the opening World Cup in 2007, where he was a major player in the first title in India. As a leader, he led India to their second title, which enhances its legacy.

Earlier this month, Rohit also called time in his career. He is now only active in Odis for India, while he continues to play the T20 Cricket game for the Indian Premier League.
