On Wednesday, the International Council of Cricket (ICC) issued the ODI team rankings for updated women. Australia continues to drive the table, but England and India have made gains and closed the gap at the top. According to ICC, Australia has narrowed 40 points from 44 after the annual update. They now have 167 rating points, while England ranked second with 127 points. India ranked third, eight classification points and now sat 121 – which reduced the gap with England from 11 points to only six.

New Zealand (96), South Africa (90), and Sri Lanka (82) remains in the fourth, fifth and sixth places, respectively. However, South Africa has lost nine points of classification despite maintaining their position.

The update of the classifications takes into account the matches played from May 2022 to April 2024 by 50 %, and matches after April 2024 with full value. As a result, the performance of the 2022 World Cup semi -finals in South Africa is no longer.

This change also affected the West Indies, which reached the semi -finals in 2022. They decreased 10 points, and they retreated from seventh to the ninth with 72 points. They are now following Bangladesh (79) and Pakistan (78), who moved to seventh and eighth, respectively.
