Ahmed Abad will host the Indian Premier League final on June 3, along with qualifiers 2, while Mevanbur will organize the first two games in the match this month, BCCI announced on Tuesday. Looking at the monsoon winds, BCCI also turned the match on May 23 between the royal competitors Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Bengaluru to Landau. The last match was washed at Chinnaswamy. Hyderabad and Kolkata were supposed to host the matches according to the original dates, but the IPL table had to be reviewed in the wake of the military conflict in Pakistani India, which stopped the event for a week. BCCI also took the seasonal wind season before deciding on places. “The new places of the qualifiers were identified by the IPL board of directors, taking into account the weather conditions and other parameters,” BCCI Board of Directors said in a statement.
An additional time for the remaining matches to 120 minutes
BCCI also increased the extra time to complete the matches for 120 minutes from one hour. The step has been taken given the unexpected weather.
Previously, not only 120 minutes of extra time to wrap, not league games.
The statement added, “Like the qualifying stage, an additional hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining matches for the league stage, starting from Tuesday, May 20,” the statement added.
Qualifiers 1 will be held in Mollanour on May 29 and 30, while Ahmed Abad will organize the 2nd and final qualifiers on June 1 and 3. Ahmed Abad earlier hosted the IPL final in 2022 and 2023.
The announcement of the IPL table has also confirmed that Punjab kings play the opening qualifying game at home. Punjab kings qualified to wrap for the first time since 2014.
