After the medical evaluation, the team administration confirmed that the imam had maintained concussion and will not play any other role in the game.
According to ICC regulations, the team is allowed to bring a similar concussion alternative in such scenarios. Pakistan appointed Osman Khan as an alternative to the Imam – a good step in the framework of the rules.
The Pakistani Cricket Council confirmed on a social media site: “Othman Khan was named as an alternative to the concussion of Imam Asr, who was injured after he was beaten by the jaw by the ball.”
Othman, who was admired by a quick veil in the opening match before he lost the second match due to the interest of the knee strings, returned to the field but failed to make a major impact. He was rejected for only 12 runs by New Zealand, Yasser Mohamed Abbas.
This incident is the second consecutive ODI in which a Pakistani player suffered from concussion. In the previous match, Nassim Shah replaced Harris Rove, who was injured in the helmet during the beating.
