On Wednesday, stormy weather in Mumbai may affect the Indian Premier League clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capital, leaving the two teams in the competition in fourth place. The outcome of the competition can be decided the fourth team in the knockout out with Google Johirbara, and the royal competitors kings of Bangaluru and Punjab. The victory for the Mi will take them in the knockout and close the four qualifiers while winning the capital in the fifth place will maintain their hopes, making their final clash in the league against PBKS on May 24 in the knockout match.
On Tuesday evening, the Meteorological Department of India issued a prediction and warning of a “thunderstorm with lightning, heavy rains and courageous winds (50-60) in isolated places” for Mumbai and some neighboring areas.
Meanwhile, the fixed rains were forced early in the training session of both Mumbai Indians and Delhi’s capitals at Wankheed.
While the two teams were scheduled to train from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm local time, they were forced to cancel their practice early, and the center square was covered alongside the rapid shorts defeat areas and the closure of the lights revealing by 8:30 pm.
The Mumbai Indians were the first team to leave the field while the Delhi players remained heading for light training, but they were finally forced to stop it.
Looking at the weather, the IPL announced an additional hour of play to add to match the timing from Tuesday, including the league stage that might mean that the matches may end later at night.
“Similar to the qualifying stage, an additional hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining matches of the league stage, starting on Tuesday, May 20,” IPL said.
